Unique Venues: Harley-Davidson Museum

OCMG doesn't settle when it comes to venues. We meticulously choose unique venues that will spark creativity, enjoyment, and wonder.

Recently we held a corporate event for our client GE - Operations Management Leadership Program (OMLP) at the Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, WI.

Learn more about the interesting aspects of this space...

MUSEUM

The museum has three special exhibits, nine permanent exhibits, and two children's exhibits.

5 Fun Facts about Harley-Davidson:

  1. Harley-Davidson was started in 1903 in a 10x15 foot wooden shed.

  2. They are the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer.

  3. The United States utilized Harley-Davidson motorcycles in both World War I and World War II.

  4. Harley-Davidson motorcycles are nicknamed "hogs" because in 1920 when the Harley-Davidson racing team would win a race they would carry a small pig around the track. This little pig would become the team's mascot.

  5. They were one of only two companies that were able to survive the Great Depression. During this time, to stay afloat and continue generating revenue, the company focused on making industrial engines.

MOTOR® BAR & RESTAURANT

Located on the Milwaukee riverfront, MOTOR™ takes diners on a culinary road trip of great American food and drink. Guests can enjoy burgers, BBQ, and seasonal favorites.

MOTOR’s bold American classics celebrate the taste of life on the road. Road House Chili that tastes like it’s fresh from a Texas diner, BBQ Ribs reminiscent of a Little Rock smoke shack, and plenty of Wisconsin favorites such as Fish Fry, Booyah Stew, and Wisconsin cheese.

Recently, the restaurant was selected as a 2020 Open Table Diners Choice Award Winner for the Hot Spot and Scenic View categories.

The restaurant space is perfect for events with up to 200 people.

INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCES

The museum has many interactive experiences.

Take that perfect Instagram photo on a full-size bike and feel like a real motorcycle mama when you visit the (airbrush) tattoo station and get some authentic-looking ink.

Build A Bike!

The Build-a-Bike is an interactive station at the Harley-Davidson Museum that allows visitors to virtually customize historic Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

By swapping parts from other historic Harley-Davidson motorcycles, visitors are empowered to design their own dream bikes.

When the bike is completed it’s given a unique number, added to the permanent collection database, and presented above for all to see on the Virtual Road animation.
